Making significant contributions to our communities

Wellbeing Manager at Cotswold District Council awarded for ‘Signification Contribution to your Community’

Jacqueline Wright, Business Manager for Leisure and Wellbeing at Publica, has been recognised for her work during her role as Communities Wellbeing Manager at Cotswold District Council. The Door, a local youth charity, hosted their Annual Celebration and Awards Night at the end of 2023, which seeks to bring together all aspects of the community in which The Door works and serves.

Attendees at the awards ceremony included everyone from the young people and families The Door support to their volunteers, staff, financial supporters and stakeholders. Awards are given to those who have made significant progress in their lives through their support, made significant contributions to the life of The Door and for those that have had a significant impact on their local community.

Nominations are made by any of The Door’s stakeholders and then the awards panel decide the winners. From The Door's perspective, Jacqui has been a key part of the team that has come together across organisations to bring about their pilot scheme in partnership with The Churn, providing support to families across Cirencester and the South Cotswolds.

Jacqui has also been instrumental in the assignment of specific funding to support the mental health of young people across the Cotswold district, as well as being a prominent advocate for family support and always championing this cause at local agency level.

Cllr Paul Hodgkinson, Cabinet Member for Health, Leisure & Culture and Youth Champion for the Council, said “I’ve seen first hand the work Jacqui is involved in and I'm so pleased that she has been able to make such a difference to the community, and specifically to young people, through her work here at Cotswold District Council.

“Jacqui is thoroughly deserving of this award and it’s great to see Council officers being recognised by external partners for their hard work and contributions to our residents. I look forward to seeing the work Jacqui and her team will be doing in 2024!”

Victoria Robson, Chief Executive Officer of The Door, said "We are proud to be associated with our local commissioners, councils and supporters and for enabling new services to begin through finding essential funds. And there is one person we want to especially recognise this year.

“She has been a big supporter of The Door and her local community and a great champion of family support work in the Cotswold District where we now provide all our services. So I am delighted to award the next community award to Jacqui Wright."
